Baseball Recap: Bella Vista's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Bella Vista barely beat Vista del Lago the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Broncos' pitcher stepped up to hand the Eagles a 9-0 shutout on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-5 on Tuesday.

Not much got past Devin James, who gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks to keep Vista del Lago off the board. James has become a key player for Bella Vista: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 7-14 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Luca Osborne was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Cooper Thorn was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Bella Vista's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-15. As for Vista del Lago, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-11 record this season.

Bella Vista will have a chance to go back-to-back against Vista del Lago: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
