Basketball Recap: Archie Find Success

Crest Ridge typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Archie proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Crest Ridge Cougars by a score of 53-44. The Whirlwinds have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cougars, too.

Crest Ridge lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kayley Marten, who went 5 of 9 en route to 10 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Brilynn Fleming, who posted 18 points.

The win made it two in a row for Archie and bumps their season record up to 9-1. As for Crest Ridge, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-3.

Archie will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Osceola at 5:30 p.m. on February 3rd. As for Crest Ridge, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-32 victory against Lutheran on the 27th.
