Webster County dropped their record down to 11-13 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Greater Beckley Christian Crusaders by a score of 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Highlanders have suffered since April 28th.

Logan Brown was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one triple.

As for Greater Beckley Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games.

On Greater Beckley Christian's side, the team relied heavily on Isaiah Lewis, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases Lewis has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Bolen, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

While Webster County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
