Softball Recap: Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart Comes Up Short

After flying high against Miami Springs on Thursday, Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart came back down to earth. Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart fell just short of the Ferguson Falcons by a score of 9-8 on Thursday.

Veronica Franzino was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Emma Althage also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.

Even though they lost, Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in three consecutive matches.

Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Ferguson, they pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 15-0 victory against Colonial Christian on the 17th. As for Ferguson, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-4 defeat against West Boca Raton on the 15th.
