Soccer Game Preview: Reavis vs. Oak Lawn

Reavis is 6-1 against Oak Lawn since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Rams are taking a road trip to challenge the Spartans at 4:30 p.m.

Monday just wasn't the day for Reavis' offense. They came up short against St. Laurence on Monday, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, Reavis can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 297th, while St. Laurence are ranked 108th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oak Lawn). They blew past Goode STEM Academy 7-0 on Saturday. Oak Lawn might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by three goals or more this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Reavis and nudges their season record down to 4-9. As for Oak Lawn, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3-1.

Reavis was able to grind out a solid win over Oak Lawn when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
