League recap: Baldwin stuns Chiefland in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Chiefland, who took down 291st ranked Chiefland, 54-42. Jordan Mullis threw for 210 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 26 yards in the win.

Union County extended the longest winning streak in 1A District 7 this week by beating Newberry, 10-7. This was the team's 10th consecutive win.

Alphonso Timmons was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 26 carries, he ran for 150 yards as the Indians beat the Indians. Keith Smith also contributed to the rushing game with 80 yards on the ground.

Kenneth Arnold made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Indians bested Chiefland. The 5-foot-6 junior grabbed 1.5 sacks.

Gomillion was the best wideout in the league this week as Baldwin defeated Aaron Richardson's team. Gomillion racked up six receptions for 66 yards. Kevin James helped Baldwin's passing attack out by catching four balls for 61 yards.

Steve Shields 's team's Mullis and Matthew Gunter have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 1A District 7 in both passing and receiving yards. Mullis has thrown for 1705 yards this season, while Gunter, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 30 catches for 533 yards. The Indians' Timmons leads the league in rushing yards with 1264.

In 140 carries Ra'kheem Hoyt has accumulated 961 yard this year.

The Indians led the league in scoring this week after putting up 54 points on Chiefland. Mullis in the win.
