Recap: Mt. Clemens Battling Bathers vs. Lincoln-King Academy Eagles
The Mt. Clemens Battling Bathers proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 31) but on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Lincoln-King Academy 41-39. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Mt. Clemens.
Mt. Clemens' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Le'ila Sears led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten blocks. Sears has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of A'Laia Richardson, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds.
Mt. Clemens has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Lincoln-King Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Clemens will challenge Sandusky at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lincoln-King Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Detroit Cristo Rey at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
