Basketball Recap: Brentwood Snags 12th Win in Last 16 Games

It's playoff time, and Brentwood had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Trinity Christian Crusaders by a score of 48-40 on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the War Eagles: when they faced off against the Crusaders last Friday, they had to take a 55-50 loss.

Brentwood got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Bailey Barron out in front who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 16 boards. Barron continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Cadence English was another key player, dropping a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds.

Brentwood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in 11 consecutive matchups.

Brentwood is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Trinity Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-11.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Brentwood won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Central Fellowship Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Trinity Christian, they and Gatewood will face off at 3:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played.
