Football Game Preview: Wetumpka Indians vs. Demopolis Tigers + How To Watch

The Wetumpka Indians will square off against the Demopolis Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Wetumpka: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Demopolis has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.

Things were looking good for Wetumpka after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 35-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Stanhope Elmore. Indians fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Mustangs since Friday.

Despite their loss, Wetumpka saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Charles Skipper, who threw for 202 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 42 yards, was perhaps the best of all. The Indians are 4-2 when Skipper posts three or more passing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. John Hudson Wingard was another key player, picking up 39 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Demopolis was beaten by Northside 48-14 on Friday.

Demopolis' defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 6-3. As for Wetumpka, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Wetumpka was able to grind out a solid victory over Demopolis in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, winning 22-9. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
