Recap: St. David's Warriors vs. Coastal Christian Centurions
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the St. David's Warriors walked away with it. They blew past the Centurions 45-14 at home on Tuesday. St. David's has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 21 points or more this season.
St. David's got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Rebecca Leshnock out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Leshnock hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Benson, who scored 13 points along with six assists and five steals.
The victory (which was St. David's ninth in a row) raised their record to 20-5. As for Coastal Christian, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-18.
St. David's will stay at home for another game and welcome Cape Fear Academy at 5:30 p.m. on February 15th. Hopefully St. David's is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in North Carolina (they are ranked 74th, while Cape Fear Academy is ranked 217th). Coastal Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
