Volleyball Recap: Benson Beats San Miguel for Their Fifth Straight Win

Benson waltzed into their contest on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the San Miguel Vipers 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in September.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Benson was: they took every set by at least 14 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-5, 25-10, 25-11.

Hazel Chapman paced Benson's offense, picking up nine kills. Chapman got some help from Halle Hatch and her 22 assists. Chapman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

Benson's win bumped their record up to 19-7. As for San Miguel, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-20 record this season.

Benson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for San Miguel, they will welcome Valley Union at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
