Softball Preview: Key West Conchs vs. Academy for Innovative Education Aviators
The Key West Conchs have the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome the Academy for Innovative Education Aviators at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Academy for Innovative Education took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Key West, who comes in off a win.
Two weeks ago, Key West narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Vero Beach 3-2. The win was just what Key West needed coming off of a 9-2 defeat in their prior match.
Breanna Breener tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Nevaeh Arnold relieved her and did a solid job, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched.
At the plate, Alexandra Rodriguez was excellent, scoring two runs while going 4-for-5.
Meanwhile, Academy for Innovative Education came up short against Academy at the Lakes on Thursday and fell 7-4. Academy for Innovative Education has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last three games she's played. Jeneice Wright was another key contributor, going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
Key West's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-5. As for Academy for Innovative Education, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
