The Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Lions are taking a road trip to challenge the Cholla Chargers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
Cholla will be up against a hot Pusch Ridge Christian Academy team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. Everything went Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's way against Rincon/University on Friday as Pusch Ridge Christian Academy made off with a 24-1 win. The contest marked the Lions' most dominant victory of the season.

Lincoln Miller made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hunter Edmunds, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Cruz Corona was another key player, scoring four runs while going 1-for-2.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cholla). Their pitchers stepped up to hand Amphitheater a 23-0 shutout on Thursday. The Chargers haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Jesus Martinez made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Martinez was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Hector Silvain and Gregory Ortiz did most of the damage at the plate: Silvain went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Ortiz scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. That stolen base marked the first that Ortiz snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alan Grijalva, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Cholla, their record is now 7-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Pusch Ridge Christian Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Cholla struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy beat Cholla 4-1 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
