Recap: Laurel Highlands Mustangs vs. Uniontown Red Raiders
The Laurel Highlands Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their tenth straight loss. They lost to Uniontown on the road by a decisive 66-52 margin. While losing is never fun, Laurel Highlands can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 529th, while Uniontown is ranked eighth).
Laurel Highlands' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ethan Koffler, who scored 16 points. Aiden Black was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Jamire Braxton continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Uniontown, scoring 25 points along with nine rebounds and six assists. Braxton hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of K'Adrian McLee, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Laurel Highlands' loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-13. As for Uniontown, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
Laurel Highlands will head out on the road to face off against Greater Latrobe at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Uniontown, they will be playing at home against South Allegheny at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
