Softball Recap: Academy of Richmond County Musketeers vs. Westside Patriots
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Academy of Richmond County). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 23-21 victory over the Westside Patriots on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Musketeers.
Academy of Richmond County's win ended a 19-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-9. As for Westside, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.
Academy of Richmond County will square off against Hephzibah at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hephzibah is coming into the matchup with four straight victories at home, so Academy of Richmond County will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Westside, they will host Howard at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Howard is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
