Basketball Recap: Mohave Accelerated Gets the Win

If Mountainside wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Mohave Accelerated, they should've done a better job of containing Owen Honegger. The Mohave Accelerated Patriots took their match on Friday with ease, bagging a 79-21 victory over the Mountainside Wolves thanks to Honegger, who posted 28 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. The contest was his third in a row with at least 18 points.

Andrew Watkins and Tyler Fry certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Watkins went 6-for-8 to rack up 13 points, while Fry had six points. That was a full 61.9% of Mountainside's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Mohave Accelerated's record is now 16-10. As for Mountainside, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season.

Mohave Accelerated wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 68-44 win against St. John Paul II Catholic on the 6th. As for Mountainside, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 77-49 loss against Trivium Prep on the 3rd.
