Basketball Preview: Trinity Christian Academy Warriors vs. Pine Knights

Trinity Christian Academy is 3-0 against the Knights since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Trinity Christian Academy Warriors will face off against the Pine Knights at 4:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

In what's become a running theme this season, Trinity Christian Academy gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Glades Day 80-35 at home. Trinity Christian Academy pushed the score to 74-27 by the end of the third, a deficit the Gators cut but never quite recovered from.

Trinity Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carter Kuzmin led the charge by scoring 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kuzmin has scored all season. Paul Morency was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.

Pine was handed a three-point loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against the Cobras on Thursday. Pine really took it to the Cobras for the full four quarters, racking up a 55-18 win at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-11.

Trinity Christian Academy pushed their record up to 13-10 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.3 points per game. As for Pine, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Trinity Christian Academy against the Knights when the teams last played back in February of 2020 as the team secured a 89-37 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Trinity Christian Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
