Basketball Game Preview: Trinity Lutheran Cougars vs. Shawe Memorial Hilltoppers

The Trinity Lutheran Cougars will head out to challenge the Shawe Memorial Hilltoppers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Trinity Lutheran's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests.

Last Saturday, Trinity Lutheran came up short against Orleans and fell 65-56.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Marley Warren, who posted 19 points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Brewer, who had 14 points.

Meanwhile, Shawe Memorial had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.2 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They came out on top against the Pacers by a score of 55-44. Given the Hilltoppers' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Pacers are ranked 283rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Trinity Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Shawe Memorial, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.

Trinity Lutheran was able to grind out a solid victory over Shawe Memorial in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, winning 51-38. Will Trinity Lutheran repeat their success, or does Shawe Memorial have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
