Ranchview suffers seventh straight loss at home

Recap: Ranchview Wolves vs. North Forney Falcons

On Monday, Ranchview came up short against North Forney and fell 35-25. While losing is never fun, Ranchview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 892nd, while North Forney is ranked 343rd).

Ranchview's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christina Mokom, who scored six points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn Simpson, who scored nine points.

Ranchview bumped their record down to 5-14 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.7 points per game. As for North Forney, their victory bumped their record up to 10-12.

Ranchview and Tyler will round out the year against one another at 1:30 p.m. on December 27th at. Tyler is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. North Forney will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Rockwall at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
