Football Recap: Weed Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Weed fell victim to Maxwell and their airtight defense on Friday. They had to suffer through a 54-0 loss at the hands of the Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cougars have suffered against the Panthers since October 18, 2019.

Nolan Hosler threw for 30 yards on one of six attempts. Xaidyn Nuanmanee was his top target, picking up 30 receiving yards.

Erik New was a one-man wrecking crew For Maxwell. as he rushed for 143 yards and three TDs on only 12 carries. New didn't just play on offense: he also picked up 1.5 sacks and made five total tackles. Vincent Orozco was in the mix too, providing Maxwell with two touchdowns.

Weed's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Maxwell, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Weed will take on Mt. Shasta at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Maxwell, they will challenge Redding Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
