Basketball Recap: Crosspointe Christian Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Phil Fitzsimmons and Coltenn Wagner

Crosspointe Christian Academy was the 62-51 winner over Calvary Christian when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Crosspointe Christian Academy Panthers took a 54-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Calvary Christian EAGLES on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 190th, while the EAGLES are ranked 38th).

Crosspointe Christian Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Coltenn Wagner, who posted 19 points and five steals, and Phil Fitzsimmons, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. Wagner is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games he's played dating back to last season. William Yeiter was another key player, putting up eight points and six rebounds.

Crosspointe Christian Academy now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Calvary Christian, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crosspointe Christian Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Tabernacle Christian at 7:15 p.m. on January 10, 2025. As for Calvary Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Kokomo HomeSchool at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
