League recap: Perkins dominating on the mound for North Brunswick

3A/2A Waccamaw league recap: 5/22/13

Shelton Perkins was the best pitcher in 3A/2A Waccamaw this week, leading North Brunswick. He picked up one win and ten strikeouts.

West Brunswick (20-4, 10-2) is red-hot, having won eight straight games, the longest such streak in the league. In the past week, the Trojans won another two games,.

Although West Brunswick gave up only seven hits last week, fewest in the league, the Scorpions lead the league with just 118 allowed all season.

Three batters hit over .400 this week. Leading the pack was Shelton Perkins, who hit .667 by going 4-for-6.

The most RBI in the league this week belonged to North Brunswick's Perkins, who drove in four. For the year, he has racked up 11 RBIs, good for ninth in the league.



The Trojans' Carson Tew threw five shutout innings in a 3-0 win over Hunt on Tuesday. He struck out six, allowing three hits.
