Baseball Game Preview: Hamilton/Warsaw Titans vs. Macomb Bombers

The Hamilton/Warsaw Titans will challenge the Macomb Bombers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Hamilton/Warsaw turned things around against Quincy Notre Dame on Thursday. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Raiders.

Meanwhile, Macomb had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Farmers.

Blaine Eddington tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Macomb saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Ogle, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Macomb's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-13. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hamilton/Warsaw, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 4-15.
