Basketball Game Preview: Sneads Pirates vs. Vernon Yellowjackets

Sneads and Vernon are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Sneads Pirates will venture away from home to face off against the Vernon Yellowjackets at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sneads has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 10.

Sneads is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Blountstown on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Sneads was outmatched by Blountstown and fell 70-9. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-5.

Meanwhile, Vernon was not able to break out of their rough patch back in December of 2024 as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 31-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wewahitchka.

Sneads' loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Vernon, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Everything came up roses for Sneads against Vernon when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 54-8 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sneads since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
