Preview: Deshler Dragons vs. Lawrence-Nelson Raiders
The Deshler Dragons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lawrence-Nelson Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Deshler beat Blue Hill 39-33.
Deshler's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Cameron Harding, who scored 11 points along with seven steals, and Carson Sieber, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brent Buescher, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Lawrence-Nelson earned a 42-32 win over Superior on Friday.
Deshler is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Lawrence-Nelson, their win bumped their record up to 12-9.
Deshler was able to grind out a solid win over Lawrence-Nelson when the teams last played back in February of 2023, winning 41-30. Will Deshler repeat their success, or does Lawrence-Nelson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
