Football Recap: Sneads Takes a Loss

Sneads lost against Blountstown back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pirates took a blow against the Tigers, falling 58-6. The game marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Jaylen Jones was his usual excellent self, throwing for 196 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for 31 yards and a pair of TDs for Blountstown. Amari Thomas was another key player, rushing for 113 yards and one score on only seven carries.

This is the second loss in a row for Sneads and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Blountstown, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sneads will challenge Jefferson County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.67 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Blountstown, they will take on Dixie County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Bears' rather soft defense (which has allowed 46.17 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
