Softball Recap: Carlisle County Drops Season-High Score on Fulton City

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carlisle County). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Fulton City Bulldogs a 20-0 shutout on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Comets needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Carlisle County's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-11. As for Fulton City, their loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carlisle County will venture away from home to take on Mayfield at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.63 runs per game on average), something the Comets will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Fulton City, they are taking a road trip to challenge Fulton County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
