James Island is 0-6 against West Ashley since October of 2015 but things could change on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. James Island is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
James Island is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past St. James to the tune of 63-7 last Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Trojans' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Sharks are ranked 115th).

Connor Dantzler continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 345 yards and three TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last three games he's played. James Island's leading receiver Raphael Puiu was Dantzler's top target yet again, picking up 165 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Meanwhile, West Ashley fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Wando last Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 24-21. Wildcats fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Warriors since last Friday.
James Island's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for West Ashley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
