Last Friday, Capital came up short against Kuna and fell 7-4.
McKenna Chavez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Audrey McKibben also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Meanwhile, Boise won against Ridgevue on Friday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Brave were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over Caldwell. Considering the Brave have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Lily Binford, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Riley Hopstad was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.
Boise was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .323 or higher in three consecutive games.
Boise's record now sits at 10-6. As for Capital, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Capital hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.2 home runs per game. However, it's not like Boise struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.9 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Capital might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from Boise in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Golden Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
