Baseball Game Preview: Robinson Maroons vs. Flora Wolves

Robinson is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Flora a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Robinson Maroons will look to defend their home field against the Flora Wolves at 6:00 p.m.

Robinson made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Mattoon, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Maroons fell just short of the Greenwave by a score of 8-6 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Maroons have suffered since April 6th.

Graysen Brown made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Gunner Hoalt was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Flora can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Mt. Carmel 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wolves have posted since April 25th.

Robinson's loss dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Flora, their victory bumped their record up to 13-17.

Robinson got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March of 2025 against Flora by a conclusive 9-3 score. Will the Maroons repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
