Softball Game Preview: Northwest Texans vs. Byron Nelson Bobcat

The Northwest Texans will face off against the Byron Nelson Bobcat at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwest has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 4.

On Tuesday, Northwest came up short against Southlake Carroll and fell 8-3.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Byron Nelson, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They never let V.R. Eaton get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory on Tuesday.

The result came thanks to Meredith Hambric's shutout, as she gave up just seven hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Emma Thompson was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Arianna Morales, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Byron Nelson pushed their record up to 14-11-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Northwest, their loss dropped their record down to 5-14.
