Baseball Recap: IMG Academy Navy Takes a Loss

IMG Academy Navy suffered their biggest defeat since March 19, 2024 on Friday. They lost 8-2 to the Osceola Warriors. The Ascenders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Xander Perrin was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits.

On the hitting side, Jeffrey Nepa made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Omari Swinton, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.

IMG Academy Navy's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Osceola, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. IMG Academy Navy will square off against Treasure Coast at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. IMG Academy Navy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season. Osceola will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Northeast at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th.
