Recap: Gering Bulldogs vs. Scottsbluff Bearcats
The Gering Bulldogs lost against the Scottsbluff Bearcats back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Gering took a 45-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Scottsbluff.
Gering's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makenzie Todd, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Neveah Hrasky, who scored 14 points.
Gering's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-11. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.3 points per game. As for Scottsbluff, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.
Gering will face off against Chadron at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Chadron and Gering are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Scottsbluff, they will take on Sterling at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
