Basketball Recap: Ashton Huey's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Rio Vista over Cisco

Rio Vista saw some tournament action on Thursday. They took a hard 51-32 fall against the Cisco Loboes. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Rio Vista's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ashton Huey, who posted eight points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Huey is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Mcwhorter, who had seven points and nine rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Rio Vista and nudges their season record down to 4-4. As for Cisco, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Rio Vista wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 48-43 victory against De Leon on the 12th. As for Cisco, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 90-64 defeat against Stephenville on the 12th.
