Rockford faced East Grand Rapids in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Rams came out on top against the Pioneers by a score of 2-0. The victory was nothing new for the Rams as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Mallory Wandel paced Rockford's offense, picking up six kills. Wandel got some help from Izzie Delacher and her 11 assists. Liv Hosford controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Despite the loss, East Grand Rapids still got an impressive performance from Mackenzee Stanley-Eldred, who had 17 digs. Stanley-Eldred has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played.
Rockford's win bumped their record up to 27-1. As for East Grand Rapids, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 25-8 record this season.
