Baseball Recap: Oakridge Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Brazos Christian, Oakridge was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Mercy Culture Prep Royals a 13-0 shutout.

Cole Worthington was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. Knox Windham was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Oakridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Oakridge now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Mercy Culture Prep, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Oakridge wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 5-0 victory against Dallas Christian on the 26th. As for Mercy Culture Prep, they will host Bethesda Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Royals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 10.3 runs per game this season.
