Baseball Recap: Tupelo Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

Tupelo barely beat Germantown the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tupelo Golden Wave blew past the Germantown Mavericks 6-0 on Friday. Considering the Golden Wave have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Dayne Wray was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Tyler Johnson was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Wray wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Tupelo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in seven consecutive contests.

Tupelo's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Germantown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

Tupelo wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-7 loss against Saltillo on the 8th. As for Germantown, they have also already played their next matchup, a 4-2 defeat against West Lauderdale on the 8th.
