Football Recap: Ropes Skates Past Plains with Ease + How To Watch

Ropes got themselves on the board against Plains on Friday, but Plains never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Cowboys 60-0. Considering the Eagles have won nine contests by more than 29 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Leading Ropes to victory were Jaivyth Cruz and Zayden Pittman. Cruz rushed for 138 yards on only seven carries, while Pittman gained 85 total yards and three touchdowns. Those 138 rushing yards gave Cruz a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Ropes was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 283 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 170 rushing yards in eight consecutive matchups.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 14 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Pittman, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Ropes' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.0 points on average over those games. As for Plains, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Ropes will challenge McCamey at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles will be up against the Badgers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 45.1 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Plains does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
