Volleyball Recap: Rogers Mountaineers vs. Mt. Vernon Mountaineers
Rogers was the 2-1 winner over Mt. Vernon when they last played one another back in September of 2015, but their luck changed this time around. Rogers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mt. Vernon on Saturday.
Rogers' offense was headlined by Avah Brown and Dyllan Chandler, who picked up two kills apiece. They got some help from Hannah Msall and her four assists.
Averee Swillum was the offensive standout of the contest as she had nine digs and two assists.
Rogers' loss dropped their record down to 11-11-2. As for Mt. Vernon, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-6-2.
Rogers has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Branson on the 4th. As for Mt. Vernon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Glendale on the 4th.
