Volleyball Recap: St. Stephens Victorious

St. Stephens posted their closest win since August 16, 2024 on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Draughn Wildcats. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

St. Stephens was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (109-102), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 26-24, 25-23, 14-25, 15-12.

St. Stephens can attribute much of their success to Natalie Escamilla, who had 16 digs and four assists.

St. Stephens was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

St. Stephens now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Draughn, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, St. Stephens will head out on the road to take on Maiden at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Draughn, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against R-S Central on the 26th.
