Baseball Recap: Triton Comes Up Short

Triton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They fell 9-4 to the Union Pines Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 on Tuesday.

Triton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Wise, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Triton now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Union Pines, their win bumped their record up to 14-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Triton will challenge South Johnston at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Union Pines, they will venture away from home to face off against Lee County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.76 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of.
