Baseball Game Preview: Christel House Eagles vs. Irvington Preparatory Academy

The Christel House Eagles will head out to challenge Irvington Preparatory Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Christel House played against Herron on Thursday and lost via forfeit.

Irvington Preparatory Academy is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Beech Grove just ended the team's ten-game winning streak on Saturday. They came up short against the Hornets, falling 11-1. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, Irvington Preparatory Academy couldn't push the score so high this time.

Irvington Preparatory Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cortez Jenkins, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Jenkins is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Christel House and nudges their season record down to 0-3-1. As for Irvington Preparatory Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.

Christel House suffered a grim 20-7 defeat to Irvington Preparatory Academy when the teams last played back in May of 2022. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
