Baseball Recap: Hampton Takes a Loss

Hampton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 17-2 to the Union Grove Wolverines. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last eight times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Gavin Aiken made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. Corbin Allen also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Hampton's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Union Grove, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Union Grove beat Hampton by a score of 12-3 later that day.
