Football Recap: Luke Butler's Menacing Defense Leads Ida Baker over First Baptist Academy

The Ida Baker Bulldogs didn't have too much trouble with the First Baptist Academy Lions on Friday as they won 38-21. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Nikolas Korf had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 242 yards and one TD while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Root, who threw for 130 yards and one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Ida Baker was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 355 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Ida Baker's defense and their six sacks. Luke Butler was especially locked on to First Baptist Academy's QB and sacked him 2.5 times. Dominic Salerno got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Ida Baker now has a winning record of 3-2. As for First Baptist Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ida Baker will host Avon Park at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for First Baptist Academy, they will take on Southwest Florida Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
