Baseball Recap: Ste. Genevieve Takes a Loss

Ste. Genevieve suffered their closest defeat since March 31st on Thursday. They fell just short of the Valle Catholic Warriors by a score of 5-3. The Dragons haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Ste. Genevieve saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Ferranto, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Ste. Genevieve's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Valle Catholic, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 22-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ste. Genevieve will challenge Fredericktown at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. The Black Cats will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Dragons surely won't give up without a fight. As for Valle Catholic, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on North County at 4:00 p.m. on the 13th.
