Softball Recap: Dixon Picks Up Tenth Straight Win on the Road

Dixon waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Winters Warriors with a sharp 16-0 win. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 16 runs or more this season.

Dakota Gaball made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Dixon got a massive performance out of Jordin Callen, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave Callen a new career-high. Rachael Cayabyab was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Dixon's victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Winters, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Dixon will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Casa Roble at 4:30 p.m. As for Winters, they will host Kelseyville at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
