There's no place like home for Cherokee, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Nantahala Hawks 71-35. With the Braves ahead 54-22 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Samuel Hernandez was a one-man wrecking crew as he shot 5-for-9 from long range and almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Stephens, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 16 points.

The win got Cherokee back to even at 1-1. As for Nantahala, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.

Cherokee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 75-24 victory against Highlands on the 9th. As for Nantahala, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 66-28 defeat against Hiwassee Dam on the 8th.
