Soccer Recap: Hampton Takes a Loss

After flying high against Jones County two weeks ago, Hampton came back down to earth. The Hornets fell just short of the Newton Rams by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The contest was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Hampton couldn't quite close it out.

Hampton's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Newton, the win snapped their losing streak at seven matches and leaves them with a 2-12 record.

Hampton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Newton, they will face off against Heritage at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
