Basketball Recap: Kennett Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Losses at Home

There's no place like home for Kennett, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They came out on top against the New Madrid County Central Eagles by a score of 71-61 on Tuesday. The matchup marked the Indians' most dominant win of the season so far.

New Madrid County Central lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ra'Mond Brooks, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Brooks has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marvion Cranford, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Kennett's victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-4. As for New Madrid County Central, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kennett will head out to challenge Charleston at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Charleston's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests. As for New Madrid County Central, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Portageville at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
