Basketball Recap: Upper Dauphin Area's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

Upper Dauphin Area had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down the Shenandoah Valley Blue Devils 56-39 on Saturday.

Upper Dauphin Area's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ethan Groff, who went 12 of 20 en route to 28 points. The match was Groff's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Bingaman, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 16 points in addition to five boards and five steals.

Upper Dauphin Area was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.

Upper Dauphin Area's win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-10. As for Shenandoah Valley, they dropped their record down to 4-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Upper Dauphin Area will face off against Newport at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Shenandoah Valley, they will venture away from home to challenge Our Lady of Lourdes Regional at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
